For many customers, your Instagram or Facebook is the first window into your café, bar or restaurant. Here's how to create a real professional page on both, link them and keep them alive — for free.

Why it's essential

Your customers look you up — and judge you — on Instagram

Before booking or walking in, people check your photos, your stories and your reviews. A well-kept professional page on Facebook and Instagram builds trust, attracts new customers and brings regulars back.

  • Be visible where your customers already spend their day
  • Show your dishes, atmosphere and events in photo and video
  • Get messages, bookings and reviews straight from the page
  • A pro account unlocks insights, a « Book » button and advertising

Step by step

Create your pages in 7 steps

  1. 1

    Use a personal Facebook account

A professional page is managed from a personal account. Use yours, or create one dedicated to the venue — it stays publicly invisible.

  2. 2

    Create your Facebook Page

At facebook.com/pages/create, choose « Business/Brand », enter your venue's name, the category (Restaurant, Café, Bar…), then the address and phone.

  3. 3

    Complete your Facebook Page

Add a profile photo (your logo), a cover photo, your hours, your menu, your contact details and an action button (« Book », « Call », « Directions »).

  4. 4

    Create your Instagram account

Install the Instagram app and create an account in your venue's name. Pick a simple username, consistent with your Facebook Page.

  5. 5

    Switch Instagram to professional

In Settings → Account type, choose « Professional account » → Business. You unlock insights, contact details and access to advertising.

  6. 6

Link Instagram to your Facebook Page

Via Meta Business Suite (business.facebook.com) or Instagram settings, connect the two. You'll be able to post to both at once and manage all your messages in one place.

  7. 7

Post regularly and mind your photos

Dishes, atmosphere, team, events, today's stories. Consistency and beautiful images make all the difference — and reply to every message and review.

Frequently asked questions

Is creating these pages really free?

Yes. Creating and managing a Facebook Page and a professional Instagram account is completely free. Only advertising costs money, and it's optional.

Do I need a Facebook Page for Instagram pro?

To post automatically and advertise, yes: link your professional Instagram account to a Facebook Page via Meta Business Suite.

Personal or professional on Instagram?

For a venue, choose « professional / business »: you get insights, a contact button and access to advertising.

Do I have to post every day?

No, but consistency matters. Two to three quality posts a week, plus a few stories, are enough to stay on your customers' minds.
